Utah income tax in 2026

Part of this is an estimate. Utah had not published every 2026 figure when this page was last checked, so one or more amounts carry over from 2025. The notes below say which.

Utah taxes income at a flat 4.45% for 2026, less a taxpayer credit that fades out as income rises.

Senate Bill 60 (2026) lowered the rate from 4.5% to 4.45% for tax years beginning in 2026. The taxpayer tax credit is 6% of the federal standard deduction plus the Utah personal exemption for each dependent, reduced by 1.3 cents for each dollar of income above the threshold. The 2026 thresholds ($18,696 single, $28,044 head of household, $37,392 joint) are taken from the Tax Commission's 2026 withholding schedule, and the $2,111 dependent exemption is the 2025 amount because the 2026 figure had not been published when this was checked.
