Georgia income tax in 2026
Georgia taxes income at a flat 4.99% for 2026 after a $15,000 standard deduction ($30,000 joint) and $5,000 per dependent.
House Bill 463 (2026) lowered the rate from 5.19% to 4.99% retroactive to January 1, 2026, raised the standard deduction to $15,000 (single, head of household, married filing separately) and $30,000 (joint), and raised the dependent deduction to $5,000. For 2026 through 2028 Georgia excludes up to $1,750 of overtime premium pay and up to $1,750 of cash tips from taxable income (House Bill 463).
